Use and Citation
Filtering the Collection
You can search for artifacts in this collection by Area, Program, Type of Writing, Course Level, Year, and English-Speaking Nativeness.
- Area: These are the broad areas of study at SLCC.
- Program: These are the different departments and programs at SLCC.
- Type of Writing: Artifacts in the OCSW are identified by genre. Genre describes recognizable types of writing (e.g. essays, letters, proposals). Sometimes it can be difficult to determine a single genre, so one artifact may be tagged with multiple “Types of Writing.“
- Course Level: These are the four different levels of courses at SLCC: SAT, 0900 (pre-transfer), 1000 (first year), 2000 (second year).
- Year: This is the year the assignment was completed.
- English-Speaking Nativeness: Students submitting to the OCSW have the option to indicate the language(s) spoken in their homes before they were of high school age. Not all artifacts are tagged with this information.
